Rainwater

On a rainy day, put a bowl outside for rainwater and use that instead of faucet water to wash your hands, do dishes, etc.

10 ways to save the earth's resources

  • Instead of using paper towels, keep a cloth towel by your side to dry your hands, wipe up spills, etc.
  • Use a lunch box instead of a paper bag to school for lunch.
  • Avoid using styrofoam: it can NOT be recycled and is dangerous to animals if they eat it.
  • Donate old books, and toys to places like your local hospital, library, etc.
  • Turn out the lights when you leave the room.
  • Open the fridge when you DECIDED what you want to eat--not WHILE you decide.
  • Don't buy clothes or accessories made of ivory, tortoise shells, coral, or reptile skins. They come from ENDANGERED animals.
  • Take a shower instead of a bath. A shower takes up 3-5 gallons of water per minute. A full BATHTUB takes up to 36 gallons. (average shower time- 4 minutes)
  • On a cold day, wear a sweater instead of turning up the heat in your house. Try to use a fire place, also.
  • Recycle paper and cardboard like empty cereal boxes, notepaper, newspapers, magazines, etc.
Have fun saving the earth!
